Declaration on accessibility

The Europa-Forum Wachau association endeavours to make its website accessible in accordance with the Federal Act on Barrier-free Access to Websites and Mobile Applications of the Federal Government (Web Accessibility Act - WZG) BGBl. I. No. 59/2019 as amended, to make it accessible without barriers.

This declaration on accessibility applies to www.europaforum.at.

Efforts to support accessibility

The Europa-Forum Wachau association is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continuously improve the user-friendliness for all visitors to our website and apply the relevant accessibility standards.

Status of compatibility with the requirements

Due to the following incompatibilities and exceptions, this website is partially classified with conformity level AA of the „Guidelines for accessible web content - WCAG 2.1“ or with the applicable European standard according to the Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and the Council.

Non-accessible content

Despite our efforts, some areas of our website are not barrier-free. The contents of our website that are currently not accessible are listed below.

Please contact us as soon as you encounter a problem that is not included in this list.

The contents listed below are not barrier-free for the following reasons:

a. Incompatibility with accessibility regulations

  • Heading structures are not always correct or logical
  • Partially insufficient contrast in smaller texts in the respective programme descriptions of the event days
  • Occasional low contrasts between background and clickable elements, including the fold-out event days
  • Some links to the sponsor logos contain the same link destination
  • No audio description is provided for the image video on the homepage
  • HTML elements are not used for text formatting in some places
  • The Imprint, Privacy Policy and Accessibility Statement pages have a reduced layout, which means that the menu structure is not identical on all pages
  • No search function is provided
  • Some Aria labels do not have the exact same wording as the visible text
  • In some cases, IDs of HTML elements are assigned more than once
  • The speakers and partners are not semantically output as a list

Enforcement proceedings

If you do not receive a satisfactory response from the above-mentioned contact option, you can submit a complaint to the complaints office of the Austrian Research Promotion Agency with limited liability (FFG). The FFG takes over the Contact form of the complaints office complaints electronically.

The complaints are examined by the FFG to determine whether they relate to violations of the provisions of the Web Accessibility Act, in particular deficiencies in compliance with the accessibility requirements, by the federal government or an organisation attributable to it.

If the complaint is justified, the FFG must make recommendations for action to the federal government or the legal entities concerned and propose measures to remedy the existing deficiencies.
