The Ukrainian-Austrian Art Residency (UAR) has become an important project for the Contemporary Art Laboratory of the Mystetskyi Arsenal (Kyiv) and the cultural process in Ukraine as a whole, as it has enabled a dialogue between artists from the two countries and enriched their creative potential. This project was an organic continuation of the artistic reflection on the topic of availability to public places during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, with the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, we can certainly rethink this project in a different light, as well as everyday life in Ukraine: metaphorically, not all places are accessible for a peaceful existence.
