Only through the contribution of excellent research can we effectively meet current and future global challenges and optimally utilise the potential of new technologies in order to shape a common European future with global appeal. Effective knowledge transfer from universities and research institutions makes excellent research results accessible to industry and society and further strengthens trust in science and research. As the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research, we promote understanding of science and research in our society as part of our DNAustria campaign and the Science and Democracy Ambassadors initiative, thereby helping to build trust. As part of the Clusters of Excellence, which we fund via the FWF, we have specifically established a focus on cooperation in order to promote close dialogue with industry. In addition, we are implementing important funding measures, particularly in the spin-off area.
